Facilitating South / South Exchange - 2012 Highlights
June 27, 2013
MSN promotes exchange and collaboration among our Southern partners through information exchange, workshops and multi-stakeholder forums.
Some 2012 higlights:
- MSN partnered with the Association of Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), the AFL-CIO Solidarity Center and the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) in designing one of the central thematic tracks – women’s labour rights in global supply chains -- for AWID’s bi-annual international forum. MSN also facilitated the participation of five of our Central American and Mexican partner groups in the forum in order to promote links between women labour rights advocates from the region with their counterparts from Asia and other regions of the world.
- For the fifth consecutive year, MSN participated in the Annual Colloquium of the Movement of Working and Unemployed Women – Maria Elena Cuadra (MEC) in Managua, Nicaragua, the largest gathering of maquila workers in the region. MSN presented a global overview of recent developments in the garment industry and their impacts on women workers.
